This summer your beauty bag should be all about the multiple. And I’m not talking cosmetics en masse, but rather a slimline collection of a few items that you can smudge on and go.
There are so many benefits to this approach; an understated look created in next to no time and portable enough for any day to evening touch ups.
And if you thought multis were restricted to the ‘mainstream’ think again, as there is an absolute abundance of products available in the natural and organic market.
Of course, Buff Beauty wouldn’t be doing its duty to you without undertaking a good spot of research to bring you the finest examples…
Vapour Organic Beauty’s Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfector
Functions: Moisturiser, Primer & No-colour foundation
You only have to squidge a little drop of this delight onto your hand to see the difference it will make to your face. Lines are instantly diminished and pores hidden under a beam of light reflecting particles. Within a few moments your skin becomes velvety matte to both look and touch; ideal for baring all or as the perfect base for a touch of make-up.
Cleverly, this product also works to care for your skin, helping it to become closer to true perfection under that initial illusion! Organic Pumpkin and Papaya complex are combined with Organic Evening Primrose Oil and Lysine to nourish and strengthen your complexion.
At risk of sounding like PR spin, this product has impressed me as a true contender for cult beauty status. Once the make-up artists and brides get to know about this one, word is sure to spread fast!
The only downside, this product does not contain SPF, so I choose to apply it after my usual protective moisturiser.

RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in Smile
Functions: Blusher and Lip Tint
Warning, this is highly sniffable! With the primary ingredient of coconut oil, this little pot has summer written all over it. Smile is a pretty coral pink, a shade that has dominated the world of beauty and fashion over recent years; and it’s not surprising as the tone suits everyone from Snow White to bronzed goddess.
Even the most novice beauty buyer couldn’t go wrong applying this product, it swipes on so smoothly for an effortless blend. The mineral based colour has a great pigment, so a little goes quite a way.
Those with dryer skin/lips should be advised that certain shades have more of a tint effect – Smile is classified as one of the sheerer and more hydrating options.
Obviously you can wear this for a coordinated lip and cheek look, or as a singular item, either way it’s all very pretty!
I was quite surprised at how long lasting the colour is; the blush survives a full day in the office, while lips keep their coral for some time before touch up.

Ilia Beauty’s Sway Illuminator and Bronze
Function: Bronzer and Highlighter
Fresh and dewy – exactly how you want your skin to appear in summer and exactly the finish you’ll get from this product. Thia stick bronzer gives a sheer wash of colour, illuminating the face as it traces over the skin. What’s more, rosehip gives a dose of healing power, working a little goodness along with the colour.
The bronze airs on a rose gold; ultimately more flattering than an orange glare and the glitter particles are microscopic, creating a gleam rather than a sparkle. The effect is of the effortlessy gorgeous variety that we all strive for and with considerably less effort than it usually takes to achieve it!
While you’ll instantly think of cheek and brow bones, you can also use Sway on the inner corner of your eyes (using a mere finger dab of product), on your cupid’s bow, pressed onto the centre of your lips, or simply swept down the bridge of your nose. In other words, it’s versatility is endless and it’s best to have a good old play and experiment with what works best for you.
Oh and girls, this chubby lipstick-like tube really makes the most satisfying click. (And no I’m not mad, studies show that we girls like the sound of the click!)

Buff Beauty tip: Not only are these items individual wonders, they also work a treat when combined. I particularly like the effect of using Smile on the apples of my cheek and Sway on my cheekbones for a softly contoured finish.
