Picture a summer beauty and you probably think of a grecian goddess; all honey limbs and sun-kissed locks. The British reality sadly tends to stray towards parched flesh and a frazzled complexion as we try to soak up any sunshine that peeps through the clouds.
But fear not summer lovers, for I have a few little wonders that will add some much needed juice and vitality to your complexion!
Lanolips Triple Buttermilk Body Balm for Very Dry Skin
I know many a woman hunts for the perfect lotion for extremely dry skin: the rare one that lives up to its purpose without leaving a greasy film. Well, this might just be the one.
Lanolips’ founder Kirsten Carriol took her inspiration from the days of watching her grandmother turn milk into butter. But of course this is far more pampering and less calorific.
Shea butter, milk powder and various oils are combined with medical grade lanolin to nourish the driest of skin.
It feels richer than a usual balm, but silkier than a standard cream and it sinks in fast. If all this talk of milk and butter puts you off, you’ll be pleased to know this does not smell in the slightest bit sickly or foodie, but instead leaves a fairly neutral fresh smell. So yes girls, it won’t compete with your perfume.
This body balm works wonders on rough patches, such as knees and elbows, and leaves skin feeling comfortable for the entire day.

Lavera Sun Sensitive: Organic After Sun Shimmer Lotion
Things have come along way since Coco Chanel first made tanning chic and we’re now far more savvy when it comes to how best to fake a glow. Having said this, even a British summer picnic or BBQ can result in an unexpected level of sun exposure and the need to replenish lost moisture.
Lavera’s After Sun Shimmer Lotion is perhaps the prettiest way to do this with its injection of light-reflective particles that will instantly lift the skin. The shimmer changes from gold to silver dependent on the light, but will never leave you looking like a disco dolly.
Of course, as well as giving you an instant boost, this lotion also works to soothe and hydrate. Organic Aloe Vera and Almond Oil make for the perfect ingredients to do this, along with some calming lavender.
The fragrance is soft and very Lavera, I like it! And the texture is lightweight and non-greasy. This is a great little item to take you from day to evening, apply liberally, slip on a sundress and flaunt your glowing skin.

Viridian 100% Organic Ultimate Beauty Skin Repair Topical Oil
You may remember Viridian from the Coconut Sensation well this wonderful wellbeing brand also retail topical beauty items.
I’m extremely fond of the Ultimate Beauty Skin Repair oil which has been specially created to even the skin tone. This oil can be used on face or body and is perfect for anyone troubled by scars or stretch-marks, or those just wanting a smooth, bright, complexion.
I apply the oil in two different ways: with a drop under my day cream or using several drops massaged onto the skin as a rich overnight treatment. If you’re using this to treat a specific concern you are encouraged to apply twice daily, but do not fear as just one squirt goes a fair way.
It’s only lightly scented; smelling mildly of lavender oil, which is mixed with sunflower, rosehip, jojoba, borage and wheatgerm oils to make quite the soothing package.
While working hard as an oil, it does sink in well, hence how I can wear it on my face in the day.

Buff Beauties are to be reminded that a cloudy day can be misleading, and the UVA (ageing) rays shine through all year around. Where possible, opt for a broad spectrum suncream that protects against both UVA and UVB. Also sip water throughout the day to stay hydrated and avoid prickly heat, headaches and other summer nasties.
I hope you can quench your thirsty skin with these buys. As ever, do let me know what else you’re enjoying!
